Sonhar com amêndoas são prendas / dreams of almonds are presents

Dreams of almonds are a good omen, and this is one of our favorite Algarve proverbs from the book “Os Provérbios estão Vivos no Algarve” edited by José Ruivinho Brazão. Reviving the small rainfed almond orchards from extinction was our dream and it brought us back to the Algarve. From this project, we have some almond wood trimmings already dry and ready to use for this stamp collection. Of course, we had to include this saying!

The script font is based on the lettering on a vintage bakelite spelling set from an old grade school.
