We craft these trivets in our workshop with one of the elaborate adornments from a house we have long admired on Rua João do Alto near Loulé. Take it with you to adorn your table, tell you a story or hang on a wall anywhere in the world.

Burel wool, from Bordaleira sheep of Serra da Estrela, for centuries spun, woven and compacted for shepherds’ capes, is so dense that it becomes resistant to heat. Dyed and cut it resembles the colorful bas-reliefs of Algarve facades. The other face of the trivet made of cork, more slip-resistant, conveys the dense smooth texture of the cork oaks growing in the Algarve mountains.
