We craft these coasters with patterns inspired by the Museum of Fashion, an old manor house, in São Bras de Alportel. Each coaster is reversible, with a different design on each side, one the inverse of the other. You can set down your glass as you order and reorder these tile coasters, like a puzzle, discovering all of the patterns that emerge.

Burel wool, from the Bordaleira sheep of Serra da Estrela, for centuries spun, woven and compacted for shepherds’ capes is so dense that it will absorb the condensation from cold drinks and protect your table from heat. The cork details, more slip-resistant, convey the dense smooth texture of the cork oaks growing in the Algarve mountains.

The Museum of Fashion in São Brás de Alportel, in the Algarve, was a large house where we found this pattern in one room, and then the same pattern along with its inverse on the back porch.
